Doug Spence is a Southern California native. He served on active duty in United States Navy from August 1968 to July 1972. He was in the reserves through August of 1974.
Mr. Spence graduated Cum Laude from California State University, Long Beach, in 1975 with Bachelor of Ats in Psychology. In 1980 he earned his Juris Doctorate from Western State University, College of Law, and the same year he was admitted to the California State Bar.
Mr. Spence's practice has been limited to workers' compensation since 1981. He was admitted to Hawaii State Bar in 1997.
Mr. Spence has three children and six grandchildren.
