James H. Woods attended the University of San Francisco and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1964. His initial career was in law enforcement where he spent four years as a San Francisco police officer. After two years in the U.S. Army Corps of Military Police as a captain, Mr. Woods entered the University of San Francisco School of Law. Here he received his Juris Doctorate in 1971 and was admitted to the State Bar of California the same year.
Mr. Woods worked in the San Francisco City Attorney's Office for over 20 years as a civil litigator, assistant airports general counsel, and workers' compensation specialist. He has been practicing workers' compensation law exclusively since 1991. He brought his expertise to Bradford & Barthel when he joined the Walnut Creek office in 2005.
Outside of work, Mr. Woods enjoys keeping up with his three wonderful children who bring him great joy.
