John Costello grew up in Boston and graduated from Villanova University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He received his Juris Doctorate from the New England School of Law in 1988. Mr. Costello is a member of both the Massachusetts and California State Bar Associations.
John has been practicing workers' compensation, subrogation, employment and personal injury litigation for seventeen years. While in Boston, he was a partner in the law firm of Costello, Gannon & Hurley. Mr. Costello moved to California in 1996 and continued his practice in the same areas, first representing applicant's and plaintiff's at the firm of Durard, McKenna & Borg and then, after coming to his senses, returned to defending insurance carriers and employers at Stockwell, Harris. John is experienced in all areas of workers' compensation including subrogation, 132a claims, and serious and willful misconduct claims. He passed the most recent certified specialist examination and is awaiting certification as a workers' compensation specialist.
Mr. Costello and his wife, Norma, have two children, Connor, age 11, and Emily, 9. Outside of work he volunteers as a soccer coach with AYSO and teaches 4th and 5th graders at the Menlo Park Presbyterian Church Sunday School.
