Kathleen R. Pruitt received her Juris Doctorate from Glendale University College of Law in California, receiving her admittance to practice law in July of 1987, subsequent to which she practiced in multiple areas including commercial liability, personal injury, family and corporate law.
Ms. Pruitt's workers' compensation background consists of working as both in-house and outside counsel and spans nearly two decades of experience. She began her career at State Compensation Insurance Fund where she attended a 16 week Workers' Compensation Law course while handling over 400 files. She decided that she needed to gain experience as outside counsel and thus joined the law firm of Tappin and Barling, subsequent to which she returned in-house to Lumbermans Mutual Casualty Company/Kemper Insurance. Ms. Pruitt was highly successful in her tenure with Lumberman's which spanned well over 10 years before she ultimately joined Bradford & Barthel's Tarzana office in February of 2007 as one the firm's senior attorneys.
Kathleen Pruitt has served on the State Bar Executive Committee, Workers' Compensation Section for a three-year term and acted as the Section Secretary for two years.
Her outside activities involve horses which she has bred and groomed for over 25 years. She owns a 160-acre ranch which she intends to use as a sanctuary for horses in her retirement.
