Profile

Mathew Markham ("Matt") was born in Los Angeles. He attended the University of California at Berkeley and received a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Pre-Law.

He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University in Los Angeles and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1983.

Mr. Markham spent the first seven years of his career specializing in civil tort litigation. In 2000, he joined Bradford & Barthel and expanded his many talents to include handling workers' compensation. His extensive work in civil litigation has proven invaluable in the areas of subrogation and employment law. Other areas of practice are professional malpractice, product liability, and bad faith claims. Matt has established himself as a very assertive litigator in all aspects of workers' compensation.

Mr. Markham is admitted to practice before the Southern and Central District Courts of the United States, and he has briefed and argued two cases before the California Court of Appeals. In both of the cases, the decisions were published:

  • Thai v. Stang
    214 CA 23d. 1989

  • Brose vs. Union Tribune
    183 CA 3d. 1986

Mr. Markham is known as a mentor for new attorneys and has created tools that he has shared with the entire firm.
