Sophia Eunjung Martinez is a graduate of UCLA. She was a social worker for abused and neglected children before becoming an attorney.
As a graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law, Ms. Martinez conducted a jury trial as lead defense counsel in a wrongful death suit, and she obtained a jury verdict that was reduced by half the amount sought by the plaintiff. An avid advocate at courtrooms, Ms. Martinez conducted many cross-examinations and presented oral arguments during her time at the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and the San Bernardino District Attorney's Office. As a Deputy Public Defender for the County of Orange, she sharpened her negotiating skills by dealing with various intransigent personalities.
Ms. Martinez quickly learned how to minimize clients' liabilities as defense counsel for an international airline at a top law firm. In fact, Ms. Martinez has settled claims at depositions immediately upon receipt of a new file. Bringing with her an aggressive style towards moving a case forward to resolution, Ms. Martinez has procured lien withdrawals and nuisance value settlements. Ms. Martinez embraces each case with the excitement and readiness to employ an innovative approach specifically geared towards the particular realities of each case.
A native of Seoul, Korea, Ms. Martinez lived in Korea for twelve years. She yearns to visit Mt. Baekdu in North Korea one day. She is fluent in Korean, and she also speaks a little Russian and Spanish. When not studying up on the latest Workers' Compensation developments, Ms. Martinez writes her novel, which she hopes to get published in the near future.
