Mr. William Smail ("Bill") was born in New Jersey. He attended LaSalle University and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1992, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He studied law at the University of Miami, graduating Cum Laude with a Juris Doctorate in 1996. Mr. Smail was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1997, and he is a member of the State Bar of California Workers' Compensation Section.
Mr. Smail began his career in law as a staff attorney for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, and he joined Bradford & Barthel in March 2000. He served as the managing attorney at Bradford & Barthel's Rancho Cucamonga office until October 15, 2007.
Mr. Smail has extensive experience in handling all aspects of workers' compensation cases from discovery through trial. He continues his assertive handling of files which has resulted in several "Take Nothings" at the trial level. Mr. Smail has also been successful at the appellate level, obtaining reversals of adverse WCAB decisions by the California Court of Appeals.
