William H. Steiner ("Bill") graduated with honors from the University of California at Santa Barbara as an undergraduate, and received his Juris Doctorate from Hastings College of Law in 1973. The same year, he was admitted to the California State Bar. In over three decades of practice, Mr. Steiner has developed an unusually diverse expertise in workers' compensation and employment litigation, as well as appellate law, and he served as an Administrative Law Judge for two years. During his undergraduate studies, he attended the University of Madrid, Spain for one year. He continues to speak, read and write Spanish fluently.
Mr. Steiner has been certified by the State Bar of California as a workers' compensation law specialist. He has been associated with several notable law firms in Southern California, and was an associate with Kemper Insurance's house counsel for three years.
During his career as a workers' compensation defense attorney, Mr. Steiner has gained a reputation as a formidable litigator with several "take nothings" and consistently favorable results for the his clients. His "take nothings" include a claim by a police clerk for the City of Westminster. The Trial Judge found no industrial injury based on inconsistencies in the history given by the applicant and her failure to establish a mechanism of injury. No appeal was taken. In a recent case scheduled for trial on applicant's Labor Code Section 132a petition, after filing a petition for penalties against both applicant and her attorney, and after applicant's supervisor and department director appeared in court, applicant agreed to dismiss her petition with no compensation paid.
Mr. Steiner is the proud father of three sons, Shawn, John and Shah, and he resides in Irvine where he can regularly be seen on the tennis courts.
