Erving Hudes, Esq.

Erving Hudes brings with him comprehensive experience in both Civil and Workers’ Compensation practice. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of California, Irvine, in 1973. In 1974 he received his Teaching Credential for secondary grades from the University of California, Irvine. He obtained his Juris Doctor Degree from Southwestern University School of Law in 1979.

Over the past 30 plus years, Mr. Hudes has handled both civil and workers’ compensation cases ranging from defending employers against third party liability to recovery/subrogation cases which collected workers’ compensation benefits from the third parties causing the employee’s injuries. He has defended employers in workers’ compensation cases running the gamut from cases involving employees struck by lightening to sexual harassment cases. He has pursued fraud cases which involved the employee and other cases involving insurance fraud by the employer. He has defended employers before Cal-OSHA, as well as defended employers before the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board.

Mr. Hudes’ comprehensive experience has provided him with ability to easily transition from the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board to the Superior Court. He maintains a proactive approach to move the cases to resolution while maintaining a plan of action for the cases to be ready for trial. His 30 plus years of litigation experience has provided him with a keen ability to know when it is in the best interest of the client to settle the case.

The experience of Mr. Hudes has included trials involving Serious and Willful cases and discrimination cases under Labor Code §132a. He has also arbitrated insurance coverage case in Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, as well tried coverage issues in the Superior Court.

Mr. Hudes’ vast experience throughout his career also includes seminars given to examiners of TPA’s and Workers’ Compensation carriers as to how to spot and investigate subrogation and third party cases involving work related injuries.
