Melodie Mactal received her Associates Degree from Oxnard Community College before going straight to law school. She is a graduate of Ventura College of Law where she received her Juris Doctorate. Ms. Mactal began her career in workers’ compensation as an office assistant in the legal department at State Compensation Insurance Fund. She went on to work in the policy services department as an underwriting technician. She was later promoted to underwriter where she worked with many brokers, employers, other state agencies, and various departments throughout State Fund to ensure proper underwriting of the policies. She finished off her State Fund career as an adjuster in the claims department where she gained significant knowledge of the workers’ compensation industry and the critical experience of working with employers, medical providers, co-defendants, and applicants attorneys. She brings over 16 years experience and looks forward to continuing her career in workers’ compensation defense litigation. Ms. Mactal speaks some Tagalog and Spanish. When she takes a break from diligently defending cases, she likes to spend time with her family and travel throughout California. |
