Nick Chavira has been involved in defending Workers’ Compensation cases since October, 1984. In those 27 years, he has served as a Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiner, a Workers’ Compensation Claims Supervisor, a self-insurance administrator, and as Office Manager for the Bradford & Barthel Tarzana office. While working for Ulico Insurance Company, he was one of the first claims examiners in California to handle ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) files beginning in 1994. As Supervisor of the ADR Unit, he trained his examiners on the handling of claims with various ADR contracts. He also provided training to Insureds/Employers throughout the State of California on the ADR programs. He was instrumental in effecting changes to some of the ADR contracts that increased the effectiveness of those contracts. He is also currently involved in revamping the ADR system to include grocery workers as part of the collective bargaining agreement. Once the CBA is approved, he plans on training clients to overcome the hurdles in implementing this new program. Mr. Chavira graduated from Loyola University in Los Angeles in 1974 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Arts. He is also certified as a Self-Insurance Administrator. Mr. Chavira is the proud father of a daughter who loves selling cosmetics and is a licensed esthetician and a son who is attending Cal State San Bernardino majoring in business and marketing. He works out of both the Tarzana and Ontario offices for the firm. |
