Sandra V. Stanfield was born in Long Beach, California and was raised in the San Fernando Valley. She attended California State University, Northridge, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Thereafter, she embarked on a career with the University of California, Los Angeles, where she worked for several years as an administrative assistant for the faculty governing body, the Academic Senate. She left UCLA to pursue her legal education, and attended the University of LaVerne School of Law and received her Juris Doctorate. While a student, she participated in Moot Court and served as a Law Review contributor and editor. She was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award in Family Law. After law school, Ms. Stanfield began her legal career in the civil arena working in the field of personal injury, where she developed her knowledge of medical issues and honed her trial skills, with multiple jury trials to verdict. She became the principal in her own firm representing both plaintiff and injured workers, and transitioned into workers’ compensation defense when she accepted a subrogation position with a major insurance carrier. She has worked exclusively in the defense of litigated workers’ compensation matters since 2002. Ms. Stanfield, and avid animal lover, spends her free time working on her hobby farm, gardening and tending her horses, chickens, cats and dogs. She is an accomplished equestrian, and shows her Arabian horses at the regional and national levels in western pleasure. |
