Sophia Pak obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. She then took time from her academic studies to obtain real-word experience at a law firm specializing in workers’ compensation defense. During law school, Ms. Pak received a scholarship awarded by the Ventura County Asian American Bar Association in a ceremony presided over by the Honorable Ronald Lew of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Ms. Pak is also fluent in Korean, which results in more effective case handling and discovery matters when working with employers whose first language is Korean. During law school, Ms. Pak spent significant time interning at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office. She then worked at a criminal defense law firm, where she participated in the preparation of pretrial motions, discovery, appeal briefs and court proceedings and further honed her skills in the field of criminal law. During this time, Ms. Pak used her fluency in the Korean language to good effect in communicating with clients and witnesses. Ms. Pak takes a proactive and thorough approach to file handling. She is an excellent attorney and enjoys the interactions with claims adjusters and employers. She works aggressively to bring her cases to closure as quickly and efficiently as possible, while realizing some cases must be moved on promptly to trial in order to reach the best results for her client.
